Before the EBAN Congress

Welcome Reception with the Mayor at City Hall 2nd June 15:00 - 17:00

A large, ornate hall filled with people, decorated with chandeliers, flags, banners, and large windows letting in sunlight, with tables set up for a celebration or event.

The City of Copenhagen invites EBAN Congress 2025 guests to a special reception at the historic City Hall — a unique opportunity to partake in a cherished Danish tradition typically reserved for royal visits and national gold medal celebrations.

Attendees will be served the iconic Rådhuspandekager, a ceremonial pancake that has been part of Denmark’s official hospitality since 1928. Created by Chef Philip Olsen for King Albert I of Belgium, the dish was so well received that it became a lasting symbol of Danish welcome, served to celebrated artists, heads of state, and national champions.

As part of the EBAN Congress, you are invited to experience this tradition firsthand and hear from the acting Lord Mayor of Copenhagen, Lars Weiss, who will deliver a welcome address in one of the city’s most iconic and rarely-accessible landmarks.
