Alden Zecha
Board Member & Chair of Education, Angel Capital Association
Alden Zecha is a highly experienced global corporate director, executive advisor, entrepreneur, angel investor, and educator. He has cultivated a professional footprint in over 35 countries, serving on the boards of private companies across four continents. He is recognized as a National Association of Corporate Directors (NACD) Director Certified (NACD.DC). Currently, Alden contributes his expertise to the Board of Directors for the Angel Capital Association (ACA), the world's largest professional development organization for angel investors.
The ACA mobilizes over $500 million in early-stage capital annually and comprises more than 15,000 members. Within ACA, he also Chairs the Education and Smart Practices Committee, overseeing the comprehensive eleven-course curriculum of ACA’s Angel University. This program provides investors, entrepreneurs, and ecosystem builders with cutting-edge insights, practical tips, and lessons learned for early-stage investing, based on timely data and leading investor faculty.
As Managing Director at SideCar Angels, Alden has amassed a portfolio of investments in over 80 companies. His earlier entrepreneurial successes include founding Sproxil, a company that achieved profitability in seven countries, and serving as CFO of Rethos until its successful acquisition by the publicly traded Engagement Labs. His influence extends to public policy and thought leadership, evidenced by his speaking engagement at the White House on international entrepreneurship and multiple quotations in the Wall Street Journal.
Alden consistently leverages his deep knowledge, broad experience, and extensive network to enhance early-stage companies and strengthen the ecosystems that support them. By integrating his personal experiences as an entrepreneur and investor with insights gained from his work in large corporations, academia, and government, Alden is a dedicated catalyst for global progress. He also holds a Senior CASE Fellow position at Duke University and earned both MSE and BSE degrees with honors in Chemical Engineering from Princeton University.
Outside of his professional life, Alden is an accomplished rowing coxswain, having secured medals at both the PanAm and Goodwill Games. He remains active in the sport, continuing to compete internationally at the masters level. An avid traveler, he has visited more than 70 countries.
