Vikram (Vik) Khurana
Board Chair & Angel Investor, TBDC (Toronto Business Development Centre)
Vikram (Vik) Khurana is one of Canada's most active champions of global entrepreneurship and cross-border innovation. As Chair of the Toronto Business Development Centre (TBDC), Vik has spent decades building the infrastructure that connects the world's most ambitious founders to Canada's dynamic innovation ecosystem.
TBDC is one of Ontario's leading incubators for international founders, with a proven track record of helping innovative companies scale into North America. Through programming that spans market entry, investor readiness, regulatory navigation, and ecosystem integration, TBDC has become the bridge between global entrepreneurial ambition and Canadian opportunity. Its European engagement, including active programming with EIC-funded companies, and partnerships across the Baltic and CEE ecosystems, reflects Vik's conviction that the next generation of European deeptech and scaleup companies deserves a clear, trusted pathway into the North American market, and that pathway runs through Ontario.
In addition to his role at TBDC, Vik serves as CEO of BHive, Brampton's premier startup incubator, helping international companies accelerate their expansion into Canadian and North American markets. Vik's path to this work is rooted in over three decades of entrepreneurial experience. He has built businesses that advise Canadian and international clients across aerospace, mining, financial services, food processing, and information technology.
He has advised startups, SMEs, and multinational organizations across his career while serving as an angel investor in a range of ventures. He currently serves on the Board of Directors of Venture Ontario, the Government of Ontario's venture capital investment agency, and on the Board of Directors of OLG, the Ontario Lottery and Gaming Corporation. He has previously served on the boards of Export Development Canada and FinDev Canada. Vik is a trustee of the Canada Post Community Foundation and an honorary board member of the Mount Sinai Hospital Foundation in Toronto. His commitment to community was formally recognized when he was awarded the Queen's Diamond Jubilee Medal for his work as a community fundraiser for disaster relief.
